Did you know humans aren’t the only species that have farmers? Ants farm too! Instead of keeping dairy cows or goats though, ants maintain aphid farms!

Do you have large patches of your garden plants that mysteriously go missing overnight? Did you check everywhere for caterpillars and frass (caterpillar poopies) to no avail? Can’t find the leaf-chomping culprit anywhere? It might be a grasshopper!

I used to think aphids were super cute with their tear-drop-like shape, tiny beady eyes, bright colors, and silly little butt antennae… Until they got into my indoor plants that is :( Now, despite their cuteness, they are on my squash list.

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear “scarab beetle”? Egypt and hieroglyphics? Flesh-eating beetles that chase you when you disturb a mummy? Guess what? We have dangerous scarab beetles here in the US too. One of which is the infamous Japanese Beetle.

Looks like someone has been drawing mazes or abstract designs on these leaves, doesn’t it? Want to know who the artist is? The artist is actually a baby moth! Now that’s what I call a talented youngster lol.

You would think a potato beetle would eat potatoes right? Apparently, that’s just not always the case…

Have you ever walked by a bush, or series of bushes, and thought you heard them rustling? Or worse, sort of whispering?? You may not be crazy – it might be bugs!

We’ve all heard the stories right? Of that poor sot who was out mowing the lawn and accidentally ran over a hidden wasp nest… Well, finally I am that poor sot.

Pretty, right? Surely no harm could come from such lovely looking butterflies…. Right? Wrong. So wrong. Looks can be very deceiving. These butterflies are definitely bad news in the garden.

Bane of my existence. Gross. Slimy. Indestructible. Insatiable. Strawberry destroyers.
